This triumphal arch was built in 1888 for the Barcelona World’s Fair and served as the main entrance to the exposition.
Although it is somewhat smaller compared to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, seeing it up close is impressive — it is a beautiful brick structure adorned with sculptural reliefs and decorative details that reflect both the Neo-Mudéjar and Modernist styles.
The area around the arch is lively and full of energy. It stands at the end of Passeig de Lluís Companys.
From the Arc de Triomf, you can stroll along the wide, palm tree-lined pedestrian promenade that leads to Ciutadella Park. Along the way, you can enjoy watching street performers, balloon vendors entertaining children, and both locals and tourists taking leisurely walks toward the greenery of the park.
